All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • The number of people waiting in line is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines, and those present must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from one another.
  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, there are certain restrictions in place regarding on-site visitation at Rhode Island CTC Cluster.

  • These restrictions have been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

Rhode Island Comprehensive Treatment Centers specialize in the treatment of opioid dependency in adult men and women, age 18 and above.

Our outpatient treatment employs a combination of medication-assisted treatment and therapeutic interventions to provide individuals with the opportunity to safely return to an opioid-free life. By taking a comprehensive treatment approach, our experts provide patients with the opportunity to address both the physical and emotional components of their addictive behaviors. The following medications are available for patients to incorporate into their treatment plan:

Methadone:Methadone is an opioid agonist that eliminates the physical symptoms of withdrawal while keeping cravings for continued opioid use at bay. The use of this medication will not cause patients to experience cognitive impairments, so they are able to fully participate in daily activities such as work, driving, and school without impairment.

Subutex: Subutex is a partial opioid agonist-antagonist that is also known by the generic name buprenorphine. This medication works by blocking the effects of opioids on the body, providing patients with a decrease in withdrawal symptoms as well as eliminating cravings for continued opioid use.

Suboxone: A combination of buprenorphine and naloxone, Suboxone provides relief from withdrawal symptoms while eliminating cravings for continued opioid use. Unlike other medications available in treatment, Suboxone will cause individuals to experience withdrawal symptoms should they attempt to abuse opioids or misuse this medication during the course of treatment.

The medication or medications that are prescribed to a patient will be done so based upon his or her individual treatment goals and requirements. Adjustments can be made to dosages and medications if deemed appropriate throughout the course of treatment.

At Rhode Island Comprehensive Treatment Centers, we believe that both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction must be treated. Because of this belief, we provide patients with the opportunity to take part in a variety of therapeutic interventions, including the following:

  • Individual therapy provides patients with the opportunity to work one-on-one with a highly qualified counselor in order to address and treat the underlying causes of their addictive behaviors. Helping patients understand what caused them to begin abusing opioids is an important step in the effort to empower them to pursue a substance-free future. Individual therapy sessions also provide a safe environment in which to work through any issues or questions that may arise during the course of treatment.
  • Group therapy allows patients the chance to work alongside other individuals who are receiving treatment for addiction. These counselor-led sessions promote open communication amongst group members as they treat the root causes of their addiction in a safe and supportive environment. By working alongside their peers, patients are able to obtain support from individuals who understand the challenges linked to the abuse of opioids.

The dedicated team of medical experts at Rhode Island Comprehensive Treatment Centers is here to assist you or someone that you care for in safely returning to a life without opioid abuse. We are here to provide the tools, education, and compassion that is necessary in order for patients to successfully progress towards the substance-free life that they deserve to be living.
